1991 Honda Beat
1991 Honda Beat PP1 For sale or trade by original importer. All import documents will go to the buyer. Street and Interstate legal in Alabama (check your state). Currently registered / tagged / insured in Alabama, and title exempt (35 Y/O). Cash sale preferred, but I will consider offers with trades. I'm interested in: Mercedes Benz OM603, OM605, OM606, OM617 engines (no room for entire cars), PWC/Jet Ski(s) with trailer(s) (2005 model year and up). This Beat is showing just over 100,000 kilometers on the odometer (about 62,500 miles). I have no reason to doubt this is the actual mileage (kilometer-age?). I've owned this for just under three years (January 2024 arrival), and the odometer was at about 93,000 Km when I imported it. I’ve had fun, now I want to make room in the garage (and the budget) for different projects.
Runs and drives smoothly, starts every time, never overheats, and accelerates better than the claimed 64 horsepower the factory stated. All gears (5 speed manual) work as they should, no grinding. Clutch assembly is new, works great. Brakes operate just as they should and pads have significant life left. All lights work, as does the heater. Wipers and windshield washer work. Power windows work. No oil, fuel, or coolant leaks. As imported, the car had minimal surface rust. All rust was cleaned and sealed. These are the mechanical and electrical things that do not work: A/C, factory radio, fuel gage, and OEM engine coolant temp gage (has an after market installed and working). Injectors removed and cleaned
New top, with real glass back window

New motor and transaxle mounts (all of them)
Most vacuum lines replaced
New rear main seal
New alternator and AC drive belts
New thermostat
New cam seal

Oil pump efficacy tested verified (video)
Compression tested
Valve lash adjusted
Nearly new tires
Replaced cracked CV joint boots
Probably more that I have forgotten
Now the known defects:
Fuel gage does not work
Coolant temp gage inoperable (aux gage installed)
Radio does not work
Paint has defects (clearly it was re-pained, and that was prior to my ownership)
Tar stain on new top
A/C does not work (compressor works, leak in lines I can't find. System was evacuated and a vacuum held successfully overnight. System was recharged, and A/C worked for only two days. Refrigerant escaping somewhere)

The asking price is set to weed out the dreamers, the tire kickers, and to identify those who just want to whine about how much everything costs. I will accept $9,500, or trades & cash as mentioned to a value of 9500.
